Salem Bicycle Club Supports 6th Annual Iron Man
On July 19th 35 volunteers (27 Members, 8 Non-Members) came out bright and early to support the Bike Aid Station #2 on the Iron Man Course. This was the third year that SBC has taken on that stop. Over 2500 participants came through Aid Station #2. After they rounded the turn at the half-way point for their 56 miles ride, our volunteers supplied them with water, food, and electrolytes to keep them going strong. Many thanks to our volunteer Captain and Board Member, Juan Lopez. He kept the station running smoothly and seemed to be everywhere all at once. Riders were so grateful for the help along the way and the whole event was fun and rewarding for our volunteers.
